What we do
Tumbleweed, a service of UMOM, provides:
Immediate aid including shelter, safety and food available at our resource center in Phoenix. Long-term assistance is also available, offering education, life skills, counseling, transitional housing, and job placement.
Why we do it
An estimated 600 young people sleep on the streets of Maricopa County each night.
Hundreds of young people sleep on the street each night.
Trauma such as abuse, desertion, family disintegration, and poverty is often the reason these young people are on their own. They need basics – clothing, food, housing, and resources – to become independent young adults.
Who we serve
We provide care, assistance, and shelter to homeless youth ages 12-25 in Maricopa County, Arizona.
We engage each young person in an individual journey towward self-sufficiency by establishing high expectations, accountability and support.
